Farmers Insurance - Michael Daniel

I have been trying to get to this review for quite some time now as I had left Michael Daniel a long time ago and am now with a different insurance company. Without going into all of the details, my account was transferred to Michael Daniel from a different Farmers office that was closing. I was told by the transferring agent/office that Michael Daniel would be calling me to introduce himself and establish the relationship. I was also, sent a mailer from Michael Daniel stating the same thing. Never got a call. I stuck with them for a little while longer until I found a reputable agency/office that offered competitive rate. When I called to cancel, I wanted to be 100 % sure that we were all squared up and made my last payment and what I though was my final balance. Many months later while getting ready to apply for a home my loan officer brought my attention that there was a collection department trying to collect funds on an account through Farmers. After calling Farmers, they told me that I did in fact still have a balance (which I was unaware of), and that they had sent a letter to my home. I let them know that I had moved and that I had not received a letter and would have been happy to pay if I had known. I asked why they didn't call me (they have my phone number), or email me (they sent me marketing every week), and it all could have been taken care of right away. They told me that they didn't handle final payments like that, and that they only sent snail mail. Nonetheless, I quickly took care of the small balance and was happy that I had moved on.
