Reno Salvage Company

My first experience with any salvage company. If you crack a wheel rim on your car and replace all four, you end up with three wheel rims. Cheaper to replace all four than order a proper replacement! So, these rims that are $750 to order, for ONE, magically become worthless once they're off the car. Unable to sell these perfectly good rims, and then having difficulty knowing what to do with them. Called salvage and auto pickers, most didn't even want them as a gift, one would take them off my hands, and only Reno Salvage would take them and pay me 30 cents a pound.
This is a huge facility, I found the staff pleasant and helpful, they direct you where to go, where to park and basically stay safe as lots of massive trucks and equipment coming and going. The girl answering their phone was friendly and knowledgeable. The whole process didn't take long but I did have to show my ID and they even took my finger print. I made a few dollars off the deal. Enough for a lunch... at McDonald's, but actually enjoyed the whole experience. Love going to any new business! I would recommend this business

I finally ventured into the world of welding. So it stands to reason I needed some metal. I landed on Reno Salvage Co thanks to a web search and Yelp review. Easy to find, friendly staff, great selection of steel and aluminum. I've been here a few times and theres never much of a wait. They process your order and get your metal cut and loaded quickly.

Quick , simple and easy ! Walk in pick out from the sample s of metal cuttings what you want pay and the bring it right out to your car! Very short 10-15 minutes tops and back on the road to complete your project .

Wow, we drove from Dayton thinking we were going to get some money from a fifth wheel trailer hitch that weighs over 100 lbs and 12 wire mesh for concrete. We walked away with $2.55! We wasted gas, time and money on our recycle! Not worth it! They do not pay! Call ahead to find out how much they will give you before you waste your time and money! Look at the weight of the metal and how much they paid! Not worth it! This person that cashed me out mentioned, "well, at least you did not have to pay to dump it". Obviously she does not know math, we drove from Dayton to Reno in a 1/2 Ton GMC Diesel truck carrying 170lbs of metal in the back to get paid $2.55! Wow what a rip off!!!

These folks are super friendly and helpful. The salvage yard I have going to for many years in Sparks has always treated me as though I was bothering them and I finally decided to try another recycler. Well as you can guess I will be back, and I am quite certain that my former recycler won't even know I'm gone. Steve
