Our AC went out at the worst time of the year in July with temperatures over 110 degrees. Controlled Comfort came out and gave us a thorough and fair quote and helped us in every step of this process which can be quite a lot to handle in the hottest part of the year. They even offered us portable AC units to keep our house cooler while we waited for the team to come.
The whole team at Controlled Comfort was amazing. From Ralph, the General Manager, Nefre, the Office Manager, Ryan and the crew that came out to remove our unit and give us a new furnace and air conditioner.
The crew came on just a couple days notice and were amazing. They were so thorough and worked so efficiently that we were sweating in the morning and feeling cool by dinner time.
They even scheduled the inspection for us and it was done and certified.
Our new unit is way more energy efficient, quieter and performs so much better. There are no more hot spots in our home, our home's temperature is within a degree everywhere. It was never like that previously. Our house is cool and comfortable and it is warrantied as well. You can buy cooling from a lot of places, but Controlled Comfort gave us piece of mind as well and that is priceless. We could not be happier or cooler!!

Our AC broke in July 2022 and we agreed to replace the unit. At that time, we asked if we should replace our attic coil as well as the outside unit. We were told no, that the upstairs coil was fine. A week later, no cold air was blowing. We had a second technician visit who told us that there was an issue with a part that connects the attic coil to the outside unit. He removed some Freon and told us the office would be in touch with us with more information within 24 hours.
Two more technicians visited after we called to follow up about a week later. One of them broke our smart thermostat, talked down to me, and eventually yelled at me in my own home. We were both heated, so I told him to leave. He went outside where he proceeded to use derogatory vulgar language about me, and his partner said they should just leave our unit broken. I have video.
Follow that event, there was another tech sent. He said there wasn't Freon, replaced some, and left. Another tech a few weeks later (no cool air again) insisted that our unit had too much Freon.
This went on for months, until winter.
Finally, we turned our AC on in April of 2023 and once again, no cold air. They sent David who finally replaced our thermostat and actually went to the attic to look and immediately diagnosed the problem. We needed a new coil up there. Just like we thought back in July. He told us someone from the office would call us with an estimate within 2 hours. I called later that day and was told that Bri was waiting on calls back about the part we needed, but she'd get back to me the next day.
I followed up a week later, and asked for my estimate. I was told that the technician would bring them on Tuesday 4/27/2023. That day is a Thursday. I took Tuesday off work, waited, and then nothing. I guess i should have checked, so I laughed it off and tried to move on.
When the David arrived on Thursday, he told me they needed some information about the part before I would have an estimate. But I'd have one in 1/2 an hour. So I waited. Followed up later that day, more than once.
Bri told me I would be getting an estimate from her Manager THAT night. I got nothing until I followed up again the next day.
The warranty was definitely not worth it. Go anywhere else.
We called Discount Air Conditioning and Heating. They came out Saturday night and had our unit up and running by Sunday at 11:30am. I can't recommend that company enough.

Here's a review for anyone that needs to replace there AIR HANDLER, and OUTSIDE UNIT (your air conditioner):
I say, go with 'Controlled Comfort'. My entire unit after 15 Years just up and quit on me a couple of weeks ago. I shopped around and decided to go with Controlled Comfort. If you're looking for an air conditioner company that will stay on it from beginning to end, and make sure everything is done correctly and working correctly, followed up with using a great dry waller... again, go with Controlled Comfort. Because at the end of the job, you will be Happy and very Comfortable!

Update to my previous post. I am adding the following events.
Friday, June 18,
8 AM, Good morning, this is Controlled Comfort. Our technician got stuck on a job yesterday evening and was not able to get in touch with you to either come by late or reschedule for first thing this morning. I do have a morning slot reserved for you.
9:05 AM the technician diagnosed the air conditioning unit,
10:10 AM. Paid him for a job well done.
So that's what's excellent service is.
I memorialize for purpose of offering a 5-star rating for Controlled comfort. 7:03 PM with so much fraud in the hvac business I was somewhat at ease when I saw this company on the nv energy website. This is an implied approval of this company. I do not think Warren Buffet would want one of his investments tarnished by association.
I called for an appointment at 10:23 AM. was told an appointment was set for today, between 3 and 7 PM. I verified the male call taker had my residence address and both my telephone numbers and at his request an email address. I was told the technical individual would call me when he/she was 30 minutes out. Mind you I am boiling in 90-degree heat. So much for the syntax on the website:

Our family had a wonderful experience from CONTROLLED COMFORT today, 4/22/2022.
We called their office on 4/21/2022 and spoke with Raven (very nice and polite) to request to service our AC and received service the next day.
We had Ranelle as our service technician; he was very professional and did the job so well.

They can to service our house via ahs. This Guy Dan was so unprofessional, I asked him to put the shoe bootie and said why? Do I need to state the obvious why I'm asking you to put on the bootie. We have multiple units and when he saw it he was like do you know which unit doesn't work I said no. He let out a grunt with disappointment. After he was done I said what was wrong with it he said I fixed it. It's 3 things that I fixed and never told me what it is, he just kept walking to the door. I said I don't feel the air coming he said with 14 fr ceiling your won't feel like! Yes you can! If you hate your job so much or working in the heat then quit! So unprofessional! If your fixing something your should always explain to me what was wrong and what did you fix! Dan had no manners what so ever!

I've started this review, but won't finish until the job is complete. We were assigned their company from our home warranty company, (American Home Shield, which in itself is a whole different review if you want to speak with someone. Unless you have time to blow)
The representative I spoke with at Controlled Comfort, was cordial, but had a hard time finding our call, which they should have received on the 13th. That could be another AHS problem. We've been assigned a call between 9:00 AM and 1 PM on Sunday, (It's currently 104 degrees on Friday.) I have already paid my non-refundable $100.00 fee or I would call someone else immediately...but fortunately we have a secondary cooling source and pool. I'll let everyone know the resolution. Hi Lorin, I reviewed your job history on our end and It doesn't appear that we ever had a chance to provide you service. I understand the frustration when your expectation is to get serviced quickly but during the hottest days of the year it isn't uncommon for us to be days out. Additionally, the warranty company requires us to schedule within 24 hours from they date they send us the work order and then schedule the appointment within 48 hours once we get in touch customer. I know this Service Level isn't ideal in the desert and believe me we would prefer to provide service same day to every single customer, but when it gets crazy busy we are often forced to schedule days out, it's just the nature of the business. I'm glad you were able to get it transferred to another vendor that had earlier availability and I hope they took good care of you.

My heroes! Furnace wasn't working, house was a cold 59, and I was freezing. Contacted Controlled Comfort and they came out this afternoon to save the day. Now I'm nice and toasty. Thanks, Controlled Comfort! You guys are the best.

Are HAVAC units supposed to be inspected by city or the people that install units? I am maybe being over paranoid but I just have a gut feeling that something is wrong.

This company left me alone for eight days with no air conditioning. On the eighth day when they were supposed to show up with the new part they kept changing the appointment time. I finally made an appointment with another company. I would give them negative stars if it were possible.
